Re-design
Reconfiguration & Updating
Freshen up your space, or change the design when your needs change. We update and re-design existing sprinkler systems around Petoskey and the lake towns.
Chapter 01
When the yard changes, the water has to change with it
A sprinkler system is laid out for the yard it was installed in. Add a new bed along the drive, pour a patio or build an addition on the back of the house, and some heads start throwing water onto concrete and siding while the new planting gets none. If you're looking at your space and thinking it could use a freshening up, or your design needs have simply changed, that is the moment to call.
We will work with you to update the system so it fits the property you have now. Yards around Petoskey and Harbor Springs change slowly and then all at once, and the irrigation should keep up with every one of those changes.

Reworking zones and moving heads so water lands where it's needed
Most of a re-design is about zones. A zone is a group of heads that run together on one valve, so when part of a lawn turns into a planting bed, the bed and the grass shouldn't be stuck sharing a schedule. Splitting or regrouping zones lets each part of the yard get what it actually needs.
Then come the heads themselves. Some get moved to cover a new edge, some get swapped for a different head or nozzle, and some that no longer have a job get taken out of service. The goal is simple: water on the planting and the lawn, and off the walkway, the drive and the house.
Chapter 03
Updating an older system with the brands we carry instead of starting over
An older system isn't automatically a system that needs to be torn out. We update and re-design existing systems, and we carry Rain Bird, Hunter Irrigation, Toro, MP Rotator and Sta-Rite, so there is usually a current part that fits what is already in the ground.
If the system has stopped working the way it should, we troubleshoot it first, so you know what's wrong before anything gets replaced. For the regular start-up, monthly checks and fall winterization that keep a rebuilt system lasting, see our seasonal maintenance program.
