Design + install

Sprinkler Installation

We design and install complete irrigation systems for homes, commercial grounds, condominium complexes and athletic fields, with a two-year parts and one-year labor warranty on every new installation.

Chapter 01

Zones drawn around the property you actually have

A sprinkler system is a set of zones, and each zone is a group of heads that a single valve turns on together. Where the lines of those zones fall depends on the yard: the slope toward the street, the shade under the maples, the bed along the foundation that needs less water than the lawn beside it.

We design and install complete irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties, condominium complexes and athletic fields. The size changes, the method does not. We look at the ground first, then lay out the zones so each one waters one kind of planting.

A home in Petoskey and a field outside Boyne City get the same walk-through before anything is dug.

The parts on the truck

Rainmaker carries Rain Bird, Hunter Irrigation, Toro, MP Rotator and Sta-Rite. That matters on install day, because a head, a nozzle, a valve or a pump is chosen to suit the zone it goes in rather than whatever happens to be in the bin.

Rotors and spray heads cover different distances and different shapes of lawn. MP Rotator nozzles are one more option when a zone needs slower, more even coverage. Sta-Rite pumps come into play on properties that cannot rely on the mains alone.

Matching the pump to the heads it feeds is how a system waters evenly at the far end of the line as well as the near end.

Chapter 03

What the warranty covers, and what the estimate costs

New installations from Rainmaker carry a two-year warranty on parts and a one-year warranty on labor. Parts are covered for the first two years of a new system and labor for the first year, and the warranty applies to new installations.

The estimate is free. Call the shop on Howard Road at (231) 348-5477, or send a note from the contact page and a Rainmaker representative will get back to you by the next business day.

After the install, the same crew can start the system each spring, check it monthly and winterize it in the fall, so the people who built it are the people who look after it.
